Accounting 1 and 2
Century 21 Accounting provides complete coverage of three types of businesses: proprietorship, partnership and corporation. Each type of business is presented in a complete accounting cycle covering analyzing transactions, journalizing, posting, petty cash, financial statements, and adjusting/closing entries. Students will have the extensive training in accounting theory (the why) and accounting procedures (the how) using an entrepreneurial approach. Students will receive thorough instruction in accounting terminology, and financial statement analysis. Online accounting methods will be used extensively. Students will acquire entry-level accounting skills for book keeping and accounting clerk position. This course will also prepare students college level accounting courses.

Business Enterprise
In this course students will learn about how companies and corporations work and will then form their own company. The company will do market research, feasibility studies and product research on a product or products. The company will select a product, build it if necessary, market it and sell it. Shares in the company will be sold to generate start up money and company profits (if any) will be returned to investors at the dissolution of the company. The instructor of this class will serve as an adviser and all company related decisions will be made by the class/shareholders.
Digital Media Production
This course offers participants a practical introduction to digital media with a core curriculum that exposes participants to the practice of the media arts. Through the curriculum, individuals are given the opportunity to develop hands-on production skills, achieve technical proficiency, and make sophisticated choices in the creation of digital media art. Individual and group projects will utilize various forms of mobile technology and applications (Blogs, Social Media) for class presentations. In addition, students will create websites, highlight videos and documentaries utilizing the latest in professional media design software, Adobe Creative Cloud. The course is ideal for participants seeking to build digital media production and web design skills.
Intro to Computer Science
The course is designed to introduce students to the breadth of the field of computer science through an exploration of engaging and accessible topics. Rather than focusing the entire course on learning particular software tools or programming languages, the course is designed to focus on the conceptual ideas of computing and help students understand why certain tools or languages might be utilized to solve particular problems. The goal of Intro to Computer Science is to develop in students the computational practices of algorithm development, problem solving and programming within the context of problems that are relevant to the lives of today’s students. Students will also be introduced to topics such as interface design, limits of computers, and societal and ethical issues.

Welcome to Office Suites! In this class students will learn many core competencies of important business software that includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Pathways to Business
An introductory study of the functional areas of business to help students realize the integral role business plays in the economy and our lifestyles. Topics include the major elements in the business environment, forms of business ownership, competition in the domestic and international market, management of human and financial resources, marketing, business technology and information management, accounting, and business and personal finance.

Personal Finance
Personal finance will explore the key components that are essential for building a strong financial foundation. Students will learn the strategies of developing financial goals and how to create realistic and measurable short and long-term financial objectives. The class will delve into managing personal checking accounts including writing checks and balancing accounts. Students will also learn about managing credit properly and how to avoid the dangers of excessive debt. Class will also cover topics including bankruptcy, investment strategies including savings accounts, mutual funds and the stock market. The class will also explore the increasingly important subject of identity theft and how it relates to personal financial management.

Sports Management
Prerequisite: Pathways to Business
This course is designed to introduce an understanding of the principles necessary to properly operate a sports or entertainment organization. Principles include facility management, marketing and promotion, public relations, community service, sponsorships and legal issues. In addition, students are provided an overview of the hotel, restaurant, tourism and event industries. Basic operations, development, and management of those industries are covered. The course will offer theoretical and practical application by providing simulations, case studies and projects that allow the students to become a decision maker in an organization. Students will also have the opportunity to visit and get a behind the scenes look into a sport organization. Students will have the latest in technology in the classroom to further engage themselves into the world of sports and entertainment!
